Taste at the Tee Golf Tournament
Golf tournaments are one of my favorite events and fundraisers to plan. All of the participants always have a great time and it’s rather easy to raise a lot of money for charity. I was able to help bring New Leaf’s Annual Taste at the Tee Golf Tournament to another level by increasing participation by 50% from the year prior and more than tripling the amount of money we raised. Each year the tournament grows both in popularity, participation and funds raised. I continue to find creative ways to monetize this tournament.
Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce Mixer
I always enjoy using my creativity to work with unique spaces to create and elegant and over the top event. That’s what I did when a local grocery store in Pleasanton decided to hold one of the larger annual chamber mixers in their parking lot. With the right rentals and use of space we were able to create an upscale event that wasn’t intrusive to business patrons. By leveraging their relationships with their vendors I was able to create a nice array of appetizer and beverage stations at a very low cost. The event not only brought people to their location but also showcased the unique products they sold.
Westend Holiday Fair
The holidays are my favorite time of the year for event planning. The possibilities are endless and it’s so simple to create that holiday cheer with your guests. At the Westend Holiday Fair I brought in over 50 local artists, wineries, breweries and food trucks for some local holiday shopping and fun. Complete with a band, photo booth, a gingerbread house making station, hot cocoa and of course Santa Clause himself, this community event brought in thousands of attendees. Not bad for a first year event!
Hardwood Celebrity Classic
One evening over appetizers 2 of my colleagues and myself sat down to brainstorm a fun event we could throw that also raises money for charity. It wasn’t more than a couple minutes into the discussion that we decided it would be a celebrity basketball tournament held at our local basketball arena. With only 3 weeks to find celebrities, create tickets, market the event, and plan every last small detail down to what song will play at exactly what time, of course our friends and colleagues thought we were nuts. But, despite the crazy deadlines we were confident that we could pull off an amazing event. And we did! The event attracted more than 40 local celebrities to play basketball in effort to fight hunger during the holiday season. We put on an amazing production that attracted thousands of attendees and all of the local news stations and newspapers.
Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce Business Fair
Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce puts on an Annual Recognition Dinner and Gala each year to recognize important members of the community. As part of the committee I helped solicit sponsors and raffle items, designed the look and feel of the event, worked in conjunction with the marketing specialist to market the event and executed the event including managing volunteers. This annual event continues to attract more than 300 local community members for an evening of dining, awards, silent auctions, raffles and lots of fun!
New Leaf Community Markets Grand Opening
One of the best ways to market your new business is to have a big party! Not to mention it's a lot of fun. At New Leaf Community Market's Pleasanton location we did just that. By transforming the inside of the store with tons of local vendors passing out their products I was able show off New Leaf's new location and all of their favorite products they sell. Customers enjoyed meeting the vendors and partners of New Leaf and learning more about what the store has to offer and the stories behind it. Outside, the neighborhood joined us for some live music, an amazing BBQ, bounce houses, face paining and other fun activities for the kids, a raffle, cooking demonstrations, scavenger hunts and of course, a nice cold glass of lemonade on the house! More than 3,000 of our neighbors attended the event and most of them turned into regular customers.
